Nice score! It's great to see good parts make their way back to a deserving truck again. I would recommend upgrading to the the later 1987 - 1996 visors. These look the same as the 1980 - 1986 visors, except they have clips to hold the ends of the visors in place. All you have to do is drill one hole for each side for the clips. This will prevent the visors from falling down and wearing out the visor arm prematurely. Also, it will prevent the visor ends from rubbing a spot in the headliner.
Thanks for the pics and suggestion! I might look into that later. Adding to the "Wish List"
I also notice that your seat belt re-tractors are different than the 86 version.

So the triangular bolt pattern of the visor base itself is the same between the two? I've been too lazy to check my own trucks, and my '85 has a BAAAD case of the floppies.

Again, that picture is NOT my truck. That is a picture of the interior of a 1989 truck for illustration purposes. The belt retractors (and cloth door panel inserts) on my 1985 are the same as your 1986.

Yes, the triangular bolt pattern is the same. The later 1987 - 1996 visors are exactly the same as the 1980 - 1986 visors except for the end clips and the provision on the visor itself for clip to snap into.
All you have to do is drill a hole in the roof (make a small hole in the headliner first). The roof is double-walled, so unless you a really long screw, you will not go through to the exterior roof.

Sorry, missed the part about it not being your truck. Was replying off my phone.
I might look into those visors if mine/my replacement set coming to me don't work out. I'd like to retro fit some clips on my current ones somehow.
