I have changed the valve springs but not exactly sure how to adjust the rockers.
I do know to go with the firing order,
1-3-5-7-2-6-5-4-8. I've heard on the firing stroke tighten until push rod doesn't twist then 1-1.5 turns past that. Is this correct?
What engine are you working with? Stock heads and rockers? Ford stopped using adjustable rockers on all V8s back in the late 60s/early 70s so unless you have converted to it to aftermarket studs and rockers all you do is tighten the bolt or nut down and torque it to specifications. I can't remember off the top of my head what the spec is but I usually torque them to 21-24 ft lbs. The only way you can adjust clearance is with different length pushrods or by shimming the rocker pedestals.
If you do have an adjustable valve train, tighten the rocker nut down while twisting the pushrods. Once you reach zero lash, go another 3/4 to 1 turn.
