Explorer Door Keypad Code

Greetings--its been awhile since I posted anything, but need help on this one. I just purchased a 2005 Explorer Pickup Sport-Trac with an outside keypad entry system. The owner did not know the entry code and nothing else with the truck shows it. Anyone know how to go about locating the entry code for this truck?? Many thanks.

Mine ('06) was printed on the computer box.

Just a shot in the dark. On my '06 someone wrote the master code in the owners manual, on the page that tells how to set your own code.

Rod--Thanks for your quick response but, I'm not sure what you mean by the sticky Explorer forum page. Please help.

One level up from this thread, here, there are two threads at the very top that say, "Read First:...." The Links for Helpful Information thread has a lot of very, well, useful links, including a rather extensive thread on where to find the keypad code.

On my Explorer, a different model, it was a similar process. I opened a panel in the rear, on the driver's side, and found it with a flashlight.

Mine was easy to locate I have a 2002 sport trac
I popped off the plastic cover that's against the windshield with a flat blade screwdriver
up above the glove box the yellow ECM IS located with a good flashlight I looked through the windshield and you can see the 5 digit code for the locks I stood outside and read it off.
I found that the evening is best when there's minimal glare on the windshield
Also there's another process if you want to put a personal 5 digit code
Hope that helps

Gil
