trying to find out if its a good idea to place sound deadner on the fire wall,,you know heat and all

I don't think it would hurt, except maybe your back trying to get it up there. Probably have to leave clearance for anything that bolts to the firewall though to make sure it tightens properly. I have it everywhere in the cab, but only so far up the firewall. I have that insulated firewall pad from DC on the rest of the firewall.
