If you want sound deadening go for an actual sound deadening pad, like Dyna-Mat or similar. I have pics in my gallery of FatMat which I have throughout my enitre cab (including doors) and it does an excellent job. You can cover a regular cab, ceiling to floor for about $100. Herculiner does an okay job of quieting the cab, but not near as well as an actual sound deadening pad.
3m makes a black sound deadening "undercoat" that you can spray with a cheap specialty gun. I used it in my doors and it's a lot easier and cheaper that the alternatives.
my cab floor has been rhino lined and I have dynamat on the firewall roof and doors works great for me but not everyone has the same taste. I doubt these trucks will ever be as quiet inside as say a BMW SUV but atleast you can make a little less obnoxious
I like Ivan's idea. I just split and extended the cab 8 inches on my Ranger, and I sprayed it with Bed Liner, and other then rust protection, it did nothing to help the road noise.
while dyna-mat and the like are very good, it costs around $100 to do a full cab.
grants ice and water dam is a type of rubberized tar paper, with a very sticky backer. you peel the paper off, and stick in place. works the same way as dyna-mat, but only costs around $15 to do the full cab, including doors and roof. and that was with 2 layers on the floor. it is almost identical to the factory stuff.

Does either company have a web site? Where can you get it? Does it smell like the cheap sound deadening stuff (like tar)?
Try Home Depot or Lowes for the Ice and Water Dam stuff. It's used along the roof edges and valleys to stop water from backing up under the shingles and causing leaks.
Remove the paper from the adhesive side and stick it on. As I recall there isn't any real strong odor emited.
