2" lift issues w/ alignment

I bought a 2" lift kit, installed it now the shop says I need a drop pitman arm to get proper alignment with it. I know this would be a lie for a fact if it was a solid front axle. I'm fighting with the ebay seller saying it was not needed, I trust the shop more than a ebay seller. So do I actually need the drop pitman arm because of the set up on the truck or is the ebay seller actually correct? I know my truck has 2 drag link set up vs a single drag link.

I also no that the ebay seller said it was not required to have drop brackets, this was a lie as before they where installed the truck could not have been drove, the toe/camber was HORRIBLE

Sounds like you jumped into this blindfolded. This topic is covered, at least, weekly.

What truck?

4x4?

I recommend using Google to search this forum. F250 levels are not covered as much but the same principals used on the F150 TTB apply to the F250's leaf sprung TTB. Yes, of course toe & camber were way off after putting taller springs in. That needs to be adjusted. Caster/camber bushings are the norm for such adjustments. A drop pitman arm isn't mandatory, but may help limit bump steer. I haven't leveled a leaf sprung TTB, I'm sure other's will chime in. Best of luck.

Needing an alingment i understand that totally what i want to know is who is lieing to me ebay or the alingment shop thats my bottom line. Do i need to fight ebay harder or quit using this shop.

With 2 inch lift on a solid front axle i could see not needing to get a drop pitman arm with it being a independent that has 2 drag links off the pitman arm or almost both right off it, i can understand not having enough tie rod length

You don't need a drop arm, but since you aren't doing the alignment yourself....you may "need" a drop in order for them to do the job.

Haha so true....

Take it to another shop.....

Try a semi truck alignment shop. - trust me I am in Dallas. After a lot of talking to mechanics and making phone calls to shops (even visiting a couple in person) the best place I found to work on my old fords was a semi-truck alignment place. Unfortunately for me I did waste money at a place recommended by multiple mechanics for old fords and had to take it back for them to tell me they couldn't get it right.... literally $500 down the drain. Ends up they had put in my pivot beam metal bushings in backwards too.

Thanks guys, kinda sad I've used the shop for all my alignments and in all honest never had any issues. And i have done a lot of front end work in the last 3-4 years and had them do about 5-8 alignments, and never had them tell me wrong information or try to con me into more work. I have had them say you need ball joints/tie rods, go home and sure enough the ball joint or tie rod w/e the case was at the time, was most definitely an issue. Time to try other shops! For now its getting a drop pit-man arm, not going to go threw the hassle with them of he said she said BS

They aren't conning you if they believe it to be true.

Remember, they have to cover their asses ... if they feel it's safer (less chance of problems) to go one route vs another, they'll recommend that route.
