Any rubber lines prior to the pump? Replace them. A porous line will lose prime and not leak fuel. Been there done that one.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it very much it was faulty lines from tank to pump

As I said above since it's on the suction side it can suck air and not leak any fuel. Had an old Dodge that had to be primed whenever it sat for more than an hour or two. Tank to hard line hose was the culprit.
