Bubbles in fuel filter

I have a 1972 ford f250 camper special with the 6.4l 390. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs and wires, air filter, oil and filter as well as the Gas lines from the pump to the carb . But now I'm having the issue of getting tiny bubbles in the fuel filter and the filter drains and never fills back up unless I prime the carb a couple times but it only does this after the truck has heated up and has been driven a short distance.

What could this be?

Sounds like vapor lock, but it never goes away after it cools down?

Does it affect your engine when starting or running? I'm not seeing how bubbles in a fuel filter for a carbed motor affect anything.

Not when it's starting other than having to prime the carb to get any kind of fuel to the filter but when this happens and it's running it will spudder and die out and I will be stuck on the side of the road for 25 to 40 min before it will run again

The bubbles may be symptoms of another problem...like a leak in the fuel line. Todays gas rots out fuel hose. Could try replacing all your rubber fuel hoses.

If you take the air cleaner off, is there fog rising from the carb?

No it all seems normal to me and it runs great until it runs out of fuel

The pickup in the tank is clogged.

Once the vacuum in the fuel line builds up to a point where it starts sucking air from somewhere, you're done.

I guess it's possible to have a clogged pickup. Kinda wonder what's in the tank if that's the case.

If the rubber hoses between the tank and the fuel pump haven't been changed in the last 10 years then it's definitely time.

Come to think of it, do you have a vented gas cap?

And also would it be alright if it has a 1/4 fuel line from pump to carb and the 3/8 fuel line from carb back to tank selector and to both tanks? Or would it be best to run 3/8 all the way

usually 5/16" or bigger.

I wonder if the unvented cap is creating vacuum in the tank and eventually the old hose is letting air in somewhere.

Could also be the tank selector leaking air.
