First it was AE as the be all end all scan tool, however, more recent versions don't seem to be as good for our older trucks. We have some great tutorials for AE with many sites devoted to AE and the 7.3.
Next came Torque Pro for android. A very good monitoring tool while driving around the country but no self tests.
Now FORScan is running. As a F-R-E-E option it has a great opportunity for us. When you add it's designed specifically for Ford products it's even better. So do we have a tutorial thread dedicated to FORScan? Knowing how much knowledge resides on this site for 7.3's, I'd think FTE could help the developers maximize the impact for the 7.3 community.
I downloaded the software and will start working with it over the week. I'm interested to what others have experienced with the software.
I've thought of this for a long time, and what I think we really need is a "What does it all mean?" thread. To clarify... whatever the next gizmo is, we need to share how the waveforms in the logs can indicate at least a narrowed-down list of suspects. The infamous "Stinky Spike" is a good example, as is a high ICP to IPR ratio at idle.
