I got the whole line of 24 volt stuff from Lowes and it works really good. Impact sockets from Harbor Freight. I bought a screwdriver set and pry bar set from the MAC man but I have to stay out of the tool trucks since it's like a toy store to me.

Wife loves the Suburban, best part is I can flat tow it behind the motorhome we will get one day!!

I got the tank down fairly quickly this morning, I think it took me long to clean the years of mud and dirt off of it than it did to drop it. I pressure washed the inside and outside. I am going to soak the inside of the tank with some white vinegar tonight.

The sock and the brass float were completely disintegrated inside the tank. Running into town tonight for dinner so I am going to get some paint for the exterior of the tank and some new rubber fuel lines. Blowing out the fuel line from the carb to the tank. That should but an end to any fuel problems for a long time.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Most times when leaving a tire place after getting 4 tires and an alignment you feel like you bought stock options in the company along with the tires.

I remember my first set of new tires I bought. Set of 4 bias ply tires on a 76 nova with an alignment was like 150 bucks out the door. That won't ever happen again. Can't hardly buy one tire for anything I own for 150 bucks.

That's really not that bad, not for 5 tires, lifetime alignment and tire package.

I got the tank cleaned inside and out, sanded, painted, new sending unit installed and ready to go back in.

Fixed the tire monitor warning light on the Suburban. I also fixed the washer squirter for the back glass wiper. Helped the wife with some chores around the inside of the house. I washed the Jag and blew some leaves in the yard. I am calling it a day on working around the house.

No rain here today, could have used some. Helped the youngest daughter move some of her furniture out of storage, and piled up what is going to Goodwill next Saturday.

Chief, you're going to have to learn how to ease up on the work a little. No rest, and that back will flair up again. For your sake i hope it doesn't, but as we get older, we need at least one day a week of rest.

Bob
you sure it just one day. If so I been taking too many days off plus I work slow and take lots of breaks, but then when you have no boss and no getting paid that is ok

I kinda on hold on the paint on the truck converting my sanders from PSA TO HOOK AND LOOP waiting on the pads to come in. Since we all shop HF here one you don't want to buy. The 5 in orbital wet sander. It last about 10 minutes before it started coming apart and the water feed tube broke.

I did get some new toys in not for the truck. Since we are buying the 8.6 acres in Jasper county close to Lake Jackson. I got an Echo 18" chainsaw and the Echo brushcutter/trimmer that can use different attachments. Got a vintage transit and tripod coming

Thanks guys for worrying about me guys but I pace myself. The back is almost back to normal. I still wear the brace at work just to be safe for now. There is no way I want to have that pain ever again.

I don't plan on working more than 2 more years and then plan on being fully retired.

I was going to install the fuel tank tonight in the 79 but I ended up working late.

I have a feeling you going to shorten that up.

Took the other Jeep to get oIL change and tire rotation. 2 of the 4 Goodyear are down to wear bars at 48 k

Hopefully but we will see.
Didn't get to the fuel tank tonight. The wife had to have her old horse put down so I have been dealing with that. I am going to try and knock it out tomorrow before the cold snap.

It always sucks having to put an anamal down. I am always the one that has to take sick ones to the vet just in case. So she going to get a new horse?

I took the other Jeep to get the tires put on. Found out why the front tires wore out at 48k the front wheels were toed out in 2 different directions
