Thanks for the education!
It's a two stroke, no valves to worry about skidoo has been doing that since like 97.

I have no problem with 2-Strokes running backward, but water pumps and secondary CV clutches would probably not work as well...
Heck, we had 2-Stroke diesels in the service that ran backward as well...

Funny that came up, I always assumed the same for water pumps because of the directional vanes. Just the other day I was checking out boat parts and saw this note on a Mercruiser water pump:

Fits GM V6 & V8 small block engines with steel and/or composite timing cover and made for standard rotation and reverse rotation engines (bi-directional).
I guess some water pumps work equally well in both directions.

How about 4 stroke?
Reverse has been around for a long time. All 2 strokes now reverse the engine, 4 strokes is done with gears.

Nothing much, tensioner crapped out in the chaincase and destroyed a bunch of stuff.
Installed a TKI belt drive kit and low altitude domes.

I believe the helix in the secondary is cut on the backside similar to the front. You can go pretty fast in reverse.

Belt drive, nice. Wonder if he would pick up quicker acceleration. Of course the engine is being messed with also.

I didn't know arctic cat had it also, or maybe forgot. I know polaris does

Good morning everybody, happy hump day.

My '97 Arctic Crap had reverse, and i think it was pretty common at that time.
