That sounds long and tedious.

I picked up a coolant filter and some transmission fluid this afternoon. Have something to do tomorrow.

I have something to do for most of the winter...lol I have to switch over to finer paper tomorrow, started with 1000 grit to speed the process will end up using 3000 grit before polishing..

The end result is worth the effort is it not. I guess with the 3000 it doesn't look like much is happening though.

It will take out all the really fine scratches before polishing. I but a small pneumatic polisher for the task...

You use a cut polish or something similar for the final work.

I have a Makita polisher and use a cut polish, can't think of the name of the top of my head right now, but you just keep adding water with it as you polish and it keeps getting finer as you polish . You end up with a mirror finish..

All this talk makes me think I should get to one of mine in the spring.

I started out with bare metal and used an epoxy primer made by Endura, then used PPG Omni high build primer and same brand base coat and clear..
