It was the first tow with it Chris. Had a rented car trailer and was able to get the friends car up on it. Towed it to another shop that can have it done this week and for less money.
It should be. They are a decent local place near my house we took it too. They will be doing a full rebuild on it. At this point my friend is going to be looking at replacing in the next 2 years because of the issues he has had with it. It had a recall on the rockers and lifters. Then the motor locked up after that recall was taken care of. And now the trans went.
First shop wanted 3 grand and they had at least 60 vehicles ahead of him. Second shop can have it done later this week provided there are no surprises and is coming in at 2 grand for the rebuild.
Yep that's going to make a dent in the old pocket book for sure.
I need to see if I can pick up a coolant filter and a grease fitting. Seem to have one that is frozen up and wont take any grease. Would love to drain and refill the tranny and change the remote filter but pretty sure I wont be able to get enough fluid here in town.
