Fluid type and how much
I have a 86 f250 4x4 7.5

From the owners manual for my 83 "Hypoid gear lubricant", 7.6 quarts, 90 weight.

80-90 is usually what they sell in the store. The rearend will take the same. The c6 will take dexron auto trans fluid as well as the transfer case.

Check that amount as 7.6 QT is a lot I am thinking more like 7.6 PT!
BTW most gas motors of that time only used 5 QT of oil with filter change.

This is true for the sedans but the trucks took 6 quarts of engine oil.
