For street cred regarding old manual transmissions, call it "Gear Oil" or "Gear Lube".... 80w90 or 75w140.
Newer transmissions use lighter weight lubricants formulated nearly to that of ATF. They tend to call it a "fluid" because of that.

NP-435 = 7 pints
NP-205 = 4 pints I believe
Can't overfill them though unless you take the top of the transmission off and fill it from there.. In which case you can overfill the 4speed...
in case you have an auto the c6 takes 23.5 to 27 pints of fluid. Don't know for sure if that includes the torque converter though. Doubt it
