I have a problem the dealer is having a hard time with, an electronic ghost. I keep getting in frequent faults on the dash showing the low tire pressure system, the parking brake release, and door ajar at the same time. When this happens the ambient temperature of the truck is above 92 degrees (Central Florida) and the following features drop out, A/C (fan still blows), the turn indicators, the rear view camera, the deploying running boards, and the dash illumination dims. Since the temp of the truck can vary even during a drive, these faults do not occur consistently. Has anyone any ideas that could help, I believe there is a pinched wire or cut wire. The dealer, so far has replaced the entire dash cluster and all boards inside, now they are trying to check the rest of the system and have suggested putting it in the paint booth with lights to hold the heat to try to get it to consistently repeat. All help is appreciated, thanks. Bassnutt
Do you have a sunroof? Have you noticed any correlation with rain or water? I had a weird electrical gremlin on my old Excursion that turned out to be water coming in around the windshield due to a bad seal, and recently I noticed water on the floor of my '08 Navigator, so I'm jumping to some conclusions here, but just throwing it out there.
Yes, I have a sunroof but I haven't seen any water but I will check. Thanks for the reply, I will inform the service techs and see if this is something they may be interested to know or could use. They did put the truck in the paint booth and the problem repeated but only once and for a very short duration. Now they have given up for the season since the weather has cooled, so, we'll go at it again in the spring when the temp returns to the 90's. Thank God for warrantees!
