does anyone know if there is a common water leak problem on these old ford trucks like the mustangs? I'm getting a little water on the drivers and passenger side floor board right where it begins to curve up into the fire wall. do the wiper arms run in side the truck? it's positioned about right for those. It's not a huge amount but I don't want it to get out of hand. it only does it when it has been raining hard.

Reason: spelling
it's almost exactly under the brake pedal and the same respective spot on the passenger side.....not near the side vents....i'm gonna start pulling the dash....
ive seen leaves and stuff cause a moisture problem in the cowl and eat rust holes inside the cab under the dash, causeing rain to get on th edrivers floor and such..
Check the rubber weatherstripping around your windshield - Mine leaks on the passenger-side due to water getting under/through the rubber strip - I've been able to seal most of it off, but it seems to travel under the rubber so I may have to go all the way around and seal it off as I go - Until I get around to replace it altogether...
Also, in answer to your question, yes the windshield wipers come through the cowl. The wiper mechanism is inside the cab. There are two gaskets that seal the linkage. If you need them, LMC and Dennis Carpenter have them.
Here are some pictures of the mechanism and holes, not very "detailed" though.
I'm thinking wiper holes!!!!!!!the position looks perfect. I haven't gotten under there to look. but last time I was under the dash I didn't notice any problems. With the condition of the rest of this truck I hope there are no rust issues....
thanks for the picture. I'm going to put a windshield in it since it picked up a chip. so I'll start there.
So much little stuff to keep this old girl running.

Yeah, it does take a lot to keep 'em running but it's well worth the effort.
From the pics you posted they did a great job fixing the "Mercedes" damage. The 'ol girl deserves a new windshield as a treat after that.
Wonder how much bondo they put in the Mercedes?
