This is the second time this has happened to me . Truck runs fine shut it off go to re start and it's a no start. I can watch the ficm volts drop to 0 from 48.5. Then it's 0 until it decides it gets power again?
First thing to check is the FICM relay. They can be moody once the contacts start to get a little pitted, arcing out. This has thrown more than one person for a loop.
It's possible the power side of the FICM is starting to fail but I would try the relay first.
It's a good preventive measure, and if not the issues just throw the old one in the glove box for when/if you do need it.
Ed is a straight shooter for sure. My power side was about toast and didn't even realize it, glad they caught it before it did check out. I had sent mine in for a check up and Atlas 40, so dodged a bullet.
Check the 50Amp fuse under the hood for any heating.
When I say heating I want you to pull the fuse and
take a good look at the pins and sockets for any color
changes from heat.
I do not at the moment. I am going to get the relay from my Ford dealer in town replace that and go from their. If it is still acting up. I will fill out your form and ship it to you for a check up and maybe a little extra.
