I'm having a problem with my 78 had problems with my brake and turn signal lights not working so i asked not to long ago on here and was told to change the turn signal switch so after $113 dollars later I put it in and plugged it up and once again it still does not work someone please help never had this problem before
First thing I'd do would be to check all of the fuses, to make sure I had power. Then I'd check all or the grounds. A bad ground is vary common in these older vehicles. And also double check your light bulbs. These #1156, & #1157 bulbs will fit 2 different ways. But only 1 is correct.
I've checked the fuses and grounds and checked my bulbs and even have replaced them I've also changed the blinker round metal thing lol but still nothing but I will double check everything and thank you
Just for future reference, Cody - putting "Please help" as your thread title is not very helpful to you or others. Please be specific about your question/problem - you will get more and better answers that way. And if a solution is provided it will help people with similar problems find the answer in the future.
The good news is that you are in the right place. Someone here has the answer for you (just not me - sorry). Welcome to FTE!
Replace the rear light sockets with new ones. New bulbs too. There is a plug in the rear harness that connects the bed harness to the frame harness. Find it & pull it apart & check & clean the terminals. It should be at the rear of the bed.

Those r cut off I had to put trailer lights on it because it doesn't have a bed but it has a step side that isn't put on yet.
That is where I would start looking for problems then. Bad splices, wired wrong, bad sockets, bad grounds.
Okay I'll just over it all again I took the whole wiring harness out and checked the wires the first time and nothing was wrong so it has to be something and thanks for the help
