HI all, well in my intro I said I'd bought an 05 250, 2wheel drive at an auction. I made the statement that it was kinda dogish , went out this morning to really check out what I bought, what did I find but the turbo is producing no boost, aleast as far as the gauge says, which could explain the dogish acceleration. where do I start on my diagnostic journey,first diesel I've owned and I start with this one, need some guidance here guys. thanks for any and all the help

How did you ck boost, just sitting in driveway you might see 2 lbs reving way up, ck air filter, ck codes if you got a way.

yea that's all I did was in the driveway rev it up, will it do it any harm to drive it like this? and is there any difference between a gas motor and a diesel scanner? if not I got a snap-on scanner I'll hook it up and see what it reads, thanks guys

 

If the snap on scanner will see Map, EBP, VGT, also check the map hose for splits , EBP for plugged up tube, check all CAC boots and inter cooler for a crack in the plastic tank

 

you will not see any boost free revving in park or neutral. you have to put the motor under a load to see any boost. ie; driving/power braking.
