Hi guys, wanted to share some issues I've been having with my truck. I just recently replaced an ebp sensor and noticed a
Huge difference in my truck. Problem solved. Now I just recently have been facing a new issue of basically only getting 20 psi boost max. So yesterday I went under the truck and found that one of the flanges from the exhaust manifold to up pipe had no bolts in it and was leaking a lot. So I put two bolts in and could still here a leak. I started feeling around and found another leak on the drivers side up pipe, seems like someone had thrown some kind of aluminum patch on it or something, but it's leaking out of it. So to me o think this is the reason why I've been getting low boost. I am going to be pulling it out tommorow and cleaning my turbo at the same time. My question to all of you is, has anyone had any luck welding these up pipes? I've welded a lot of exhaust stuff and do a lot of welding at work, but is this specific part an issue to weld? I would like to weld an reinforce some of the areas while I have it out. Also forgot to mention, I have been getting the code for low boost.
Yes if your handy with a heli arc , don't see why you couldn't get the job done, don't forget to check all the CAC boots too, they may look good but they will split open on pressure , to the naked eye they look good , maybe a little oily.
Sorry for delay, I got some beefy stainless steel up pipes fr eBay and swapped them last week, turbo issue resolved. Getting close to 28 psi sometimes. I have another issue im gonna post up a thread.
