Quick carb question

Hi guys, its been a while sence Ive been on lol.

So I just picked up an '83 f150 xlt with a 302 and AOD.

Ive been cleaning up the vac lines and clearing out all the extra junk and I came across this little vac port on the front of the carb next to the accel pump.

Im at a loss as to what it is and where is should be connected at the moment. about all the is currently connected is the pcv and dizzy.

So if you know chime up would appreciate the help

Oh the carb is the E3TE-AVA

Thanks!

Strange thing

Why are you worried about it? It was discussed a long time ago but I can't remember what it was for. You are plugging everything, just plug it also. I predict that large black plug is going to give you hot start problems.

No the red caps are on the lower manifold vac ports. That thing takes vac and does something inside the carb.

I don't know what it is, but I'll bet it doesn't do anything inside the carb. Pull the two screws and I think you'll find they just used that as a convenient mounting point.

It's a temperature compensated accelerator pump.

I also see it called a pump relief valve.
