Make sure that if you replace that filter with a new cotton one that you oil it using K&N's recharger oil. It's the oil that traps the fine dust; without the oil you may get dust into your engine.
Ahhhh! I was told by another user that they are a waste of money and they ADD to bringing dust into your engine... I have no idea what to do now
If you can find a paper one which fits for a reasonable price, go ahead. I'd like to know about it too.
I haven't been able to do that, so I just use knock-off K&N filters - Like this: Blue 4 inches 4" Inlet 102mm Cold Air Intake Cone Truck Filter for Lexus | eBay
For $20, it's cheaper than anything else I can find, and the quality of the cotton filter seems to be decent(New filter doesn't seem to have any "holes" in it); oil the snot out of it and call it good. At this price, it may or may not be worth washing it and reusing it.
Note that A, timing marks may be different per IP - those marks should not be perfectly lined up in most cases. When installing an IP, you line them up(which will get the truck to start), then get it warm and "dynamic time" it. And the older the pump is, the further off it may be to be "correctly" timed.
No, what I'm saying is that the timing marks aren't even close to the correct timing as I witnessed with my 6.9, for what it's worth. I thought IDI owners just got accustomed to driving something so slow.
