Headlight switch bulb

2006-2010 Explorer. automatic lights and fog lights

Has anyone had luck finding a replacement bulb for the headlight switch?

I certainly would try to replace that with a white LED....

Is there a bulb number ink stamped on the bulb anywhere?

Yeah, that bulb holder looks a little crispy and overdone. An LED should be a lot cooler.

Take the bulb to a Napa or try an old-fashioned electronics shop if you have one nearby. Otherwise, some of the online electronics retailers (or even Amazon) should be able to fix you up with something.

Thanks for the replies. After much research it appears this is a common problem with many solutions.

I am looking into several options and will update the thread when one is settled on.

every time I go to the boneyard I grab as many of the dash-switch LEDs as I can find

Headlight Switch Bulb for 2007 Explorer Sport Trac

The following bulb worked in my 2007 Explorer Sport Trac headlight switch: http://audioxpress.org/listing/05-06-07-08-09-ford-mustang-headlight-switch-light-bulb . $5.99 plus shipping. It had a blue rubber covering over the bulb, so I removed it before installing.
