When it won't start, try jiggling the pigtail that goes into the back of the IPR. If it starts, leave it idling and go back under the hood and jiggle those two wires and see if it shuts down. Those two wires to the back of the IPR get chaffed over time and exposed. Due to this, they short out and shut the truck down. That bolt going to the CPS is 10mm in case you tried a standard size or something. Let us know what happens.

Thanks everyone, I'll try this stuff tomorrow. My cps bolt is now a 12mm head. The original did not survive the removal. Haha, neither did the sensor.

Ah dangit...that sucks. Check the integrity of the pigtail and make sure it's ok too. Those also tend to wear. See where this is going? Most issues on these trucks have to do with sensors and the pigtails they connect to. It's a PITA. Mechanics are usually bulletproof.

In what part of CA are you located?
