Unhappy HELP, stranded in Cheeseland.

OK, It could be worse. I'm in Wisconsin, fishing till Friday. But, my truck won't start. I've been having an occasional problem in the mornings, where it would start, chug a little bit and die. It usually starts up after that and is fine. Once, after I replaced the GPR a few weeks ago, I jumped the GPR and it started, but that hasn't worked today. I actually don't think it's a GPR problem. Any other ideas from anyone?? Even though I'm playing for a few more days, I eventually need to go home. Thanks guys

Where in wisconsin are you? I just had to replace my cps so i don't have a spare to try but could take my new one out to see if that's it. Let me know if you need any tools or help. I live in Appleton, about 20 minutes south of Green Bay.

I'm in Edgerton, just North of Janesville. I guess I've had too many beers today. I'll try the cps now.

OK, tried the CPS. No go. There is always the possibility that my backup is bad, because it is the original one to the truck. I replaced it about three years ago, because I thought that was the problem, but it wasn't. Any other Ideas?

I know it sounds to simple, but check your oil level, Also check your batteries with a meter, one more-check your fuel filter. Good luck.

Fuel filter was changed 2 weeks ago, batteries are fine, it cranks like they're new. Changed oil last thursday. I found an International dealer in Janesville, so I'll probably try another CPS. Or should I I try one of the new ones from Ford? I've heard a lot from you guys about them, but no reports on the quality. Does International have the same $25.00 cps?

A quick question about the HPOP. Doesn't that get oil from the motor? So then if it does, and I drove the 2.5 hours up here, and the motor is clean, ie. no leaks, how can it be low? Not being a smart butt, I have just never had to touch the HPOP yet, so trying to understand.

Someone might be able to give more info but i believe the hpop has a check valve in it that can go bad and the oil will drain back into the engine. There is an allen set screw(once again i believe, haven't ever checked mine but remembering from reading on this site) on the hpop that you can take out and check the level of oil in there to make sure the hpop has the oil it's supposed to. Hopefully someone else will chime in and give more info or correct me if i'm wrong.
