Jacking Up Truck

Hello...a very newbie question here. I read through the manual on my new 2016 Super Duty and it states the jacking point for the rear is under the axle outside of the shock absorber and the front is the "flat area" outboard of the front differential. I'm used to lifting a vehicle from the frame however I've never jacked up a truck this tall.

How do you all do it? I want to make sure my first tire rotation is smooth and uneventful!

As the manual states with appropriate jack stands of course. Be sure to lube the lug nut washers and torque per the book.

Yep....apply the oil and spin the washer to evenly displace the oil under the washer then torque.
Nice image right wing!

I do it as per the manual. However, I use a hydraulic jack rather than the screw jack that is provided with the truck.

I normally jack the rear end up with the floor jack centered under the axle housing. I place jack stands on each side outboard near the shocks. Lower the rear of the truck so the axle housing rest on the jack stands. Now I am free to jack up either of the front wheels and rotate to the rear tire position desired.

Been using this procedure for 30 plus years with no problems.

Ive never lifted any vehicle off the center section on either side of the frame rails as shown in the vid. If you need to use the frame always find a point close to the suspension attachment points. Is it gona hurt anything, mmmaaahh, probably not just not best practice...This is especially important the heavier, taller the vehicles is. All IMO of course.
