I have been in the infancy stage trying to maneuver thru the Ford Master Parts Catalog for the past few years; I have looked in the Manual Trans section, the Speedometer Section with no success? If anyone can direct me to the section, and page it would be greatly appreciated.
The Ford part supplier I am considering purchasing from does not offer an item description other than a C5TZ-17260-Y. The gear shaft appears similar/same not not sure about the cap that screws onto the speedo?

After scrolling thru 4080 page I stumble upon section that dealt with types of speedomenter Driven Gear and Speedometer cable. Appears really does not matter since there are limited number of supplier's. Posted pic's to Ford part supplier and ask which, if any, items meets my application.
In checking Mac's online catalog, they list the items #: 48-37872-1
Alt Part #: C5TZ-17260-N Awaiting Shipment
Fitment:
1965 thru 1966
On the other hand, D.C list 1967 - 72 C5TZ-17260-N , and from what I can gather from DC catalog the 1965-77 C5TZ-17260-Y would not be the correct application for the T18.
At this point going with Mac's, at least their catalog appears to be more in line with what I am looking for. As for the driver gears, sent photo's to both DC, and Mac's and awaiting their suggestions. Again, appears Mac's catalog is more specific to my application, Type A with right hand Helex gear. Although, not sure when it mentions 'awaiting shipment', hopefully they are referring to my purchasing??
They probably have to wait for Dennis Carpenter to ship it to them?
How funny, likely correct; although, found similar gear in DC catalog except, if I understand correctly, they only offered 18 tooth in B type with left hand style Helex? Intend calling a couple local Ford part supplier's and see if they carry them.

Have a NAPA parts store in Maryjaneville?
If so, whiz on over and take the original nylon DRIVEN gear with you to match it up.
Why go 1000's of miles east, then pay shipping charges when you can get the same gear locally?
Pics from 1973/79 Ford Car Parts Catalog (final edition 11/88).
This catalog shows the DRIVEN gear types (upper pic), colors and the latest part numbers (lower pic).
All the nylon DRIVEN gears are available from Ford & auto parts stores, so you don't have to go to NY (Mac's) or NC (Carpenter) to get one.
Edit: In this chart CODD-17271-B is listed as TYPE 3A
Bill, because the original gear is of the 'right hand helex' not sure if any of those in chart are correct for my application. Came across similar chart in the 64-72 master catalog, did not find gear color coding but seem to recall the 18 tooth gear, with right hand helex was of the Type(A) (3), or (A) (3A), intend downloading tomorrow for review to clarify, then take it to local Ford part supplier for a match?

Have a 3-4 Napa stores in my neck of the woods, their online catalog did not list them, intend calling tomorrow to confirm. I find that some times shipping cost across the US, in most cases, is less than the 9.+% sales tax Ca. wants?
I received my 18 and 19 tooth driven gears from MAC's a few weeks ago. They look like your picture, 'right hand helix'. Never really tried to buy local, I bundled the order with some other stuff that I needed.

Believe the original 'driven' gear is okay for now. The trans cable does need to be replaced; Checked w/ MAC's few minutes ago, the 'waiting shipment' means C5TZ-17260-N will not be in stock until mid October. Inquired about who their supplier is, did not receive an answer?
Checked Green's sales: online catalog indicates not in stock?
Spoke with DC staff and sales person said the C5TZ-17260-Y will work fine?
O'My; Came across the N type in the box, the question is how high will I go???
Appreciate the information, I thank U!!

Bill, I do appreciate the input; decided to purchased an NOS(?) C5TZ-17260-N, and Oh did it hurt. Compared photo's and appears to be exact match to the original cable. Also ordered a replacement drive gear for a few $; CODD-17271-B, in comparing photo's both appears to be same; if not, original is in decent condition considering 45+ years of use.
