Im in the process of ordering a Lariat and trying to figure out if I want the 18" or 20" Bright Machined wheels and noticed the tire sizes on them. The 18" wheels have two inch shorter tires on them, then the 20" wheels. This seems somewhat idiotic on Ford's part by running little pizza cutters on the 18" wheels.
You can get the 275/70/18 which are roughly 33.2. Then you can get 275/65/20 which are roughly 34.1 tall. Today, there are more tire size options in the 18 and they generally cost less vs. the 20". Go with what you like the look of best.
Actually the 20's are 33" and the 18's are 33.2" so the 18's are taller. For ride comfort the 18's have a 7.6" side wall and the 20's have a 6.5" side wall. The circumference of the 18's is 104.1 and the 20's are 103.6, so the 18's are a bigger tire but "look" small because of the look of the 20" rim.

That all said, for me, I went with the 18's IMHO they were right for me, as I was looking for a slight edge on ride comfort with a taller size wall.
And last when you are in your truck driving down the road, you would not know the difference between 18's or 20's.
Lets us know what you go with.

18's calculate out to 33.2 inches and 20's are 34.1 inches.
I stand corrected I put in 275 60 not 275 65 which is 34.1 inches tall.
That said, I believe it comes down to the individual like of the "look" of the tire. Ride wise I believe it would be hard to tell the difference between the two size tires.

According to the website the 18" wheel size is a 275/65 not a 275/70. If it is a 275/70 that makes more sense.
