It starts fine when the engine is cold but when you get the engine warmed up and shut it off it hesitates at lot trying to start.
I had posted in a similar thread by brokeasajoke and he suggested checking the fuel pressure regulator. I haven't gotten around to checking it out yet.
I hope this is allowed. I made a youtube video of it starting when warm.
Go to an auto parts store and have them hook up a battery/starter/alternator combo tester and have them check all three while the truck is hot. Easiest stuff to check first and all three are easy to change. If all three pass then perform some ignition diagnostics.
Heres a very simple way to check for a bad battery cable. For the negative cable simply add a jumper cable between tthe negative battery post & the engine block. If it cranks like it should the negative cable is toast. Still no joy? add the jumper between positive battery and starter relay.
B4 doing this clean the cable ends & battery posts and reconnect the cables. grab your jumper cables and see what you get.
I had the same problem with my 1988 F350 7.5L. I had already replaced the battery cables so I know that is not the problem. I went to NAPA and got a starter. I changed it out and took a 30 mile trip to get the motor nice and hot. It started beautifully. The only problem I had was with the new starter. The problem was the electrical cover on the new starter was not sealed well. I hope this helps.
