So after finally finding out how to fold forward the driver's side rear seatback on my 2016 Supercab, I reach my hand behind the seatback (tight stinkin' fit!), find the cloth pull tab and pull. Off comes the pull tab.
It didn't break. It appears to be the female end of a slotted or "keyhole" type connection. Somehow while rotating it I must have slipped it out of the slot. With the extremely limited space (my hand has to stay flat - can't twist around to feel for stuff), I can't for the life of me find by feel where it should reconnect. I've tried sticking a coathanger, screwdriver, even the looped end of a tent stake behind the seatback, feeling around the latch mechanism to see if I could spring it without the pull tab.
No joy. Do any of you have any ideas of what else I could try? Or possibly a link to schematic of the mechanism? Or, I know it's a lot to ask, maybe, if you have a 15-16 Supercab, fold the driver's side seatback down and take a pic of the latch so I know approximately where to insert a tool and which way to jimmy the thing?
If I ever get it unlatched, that pull tab is getting gorilla glued back on!

I have a little tool I made to reach springs and other little "doo-hickeys" several years ago. I made it out of a finishing nail that I bent into sort of an "S" shape. One end of the S was a bit longer, and I took a piece of 3/8" dowel, and end-drilled it. I then epoxied the bent-nail into that end.
The tool works great for getting into tight spaces and pushing or pulling little things. If the description doesn't compute, I can post a picture of it.
Thanks guys! That's REALLY helpful - especially the images. Very much appreciated! I'll try again with the seat up. I didn't do that in my previous attempts.
I can play with it, but on the square tab, does that move up and down vertically, or does it move on a horizontal axis? Just looking for what direction I need to apply pressure.
RexP - I have no idea why Ford put the passenger tab in an easy to grab location and the driver's side in a hard to grab (and find!) location, but the driver's side one is is actually behind the seatback, maybe 6-8" from the edge of the seatback and 6" down behind the seat. My cloth tab was folded or rolled up or something and I think that's why when I went to grab it the first time, I somehow moved it to where it unattached from the tab.

Pull up on it (vertical). If you had some wire you could make yourself a little loop, and go fishing for it. That might be easier than trying to get your hand back there to put the cloth strap thing on it.
Mine only has a cloth strap on the passenger side. Back when i had a supercab and could do this mod i saw people where making a little pull tab for the other side so they could just reach and grab that. I couldn't find the Link but i will probably make something like that on mine.
