I have a 97 F150 extended cab with power windows/locks. Out of the blue the right side window decided to malfunction (fortunately in the up position). I started looking at the wiring, the pass door is not getting any power, the driver's side door switch that operates the pass window has no power to it. I understand that the driver's side switch that operates the driver's side window also feeds the passenger window switch(s). I replaced the drivers side swtich with a known good one w/o result.
Sooo.... Is there any wiring diagrams available on line and/or do you guys have anysuggestions? Thanks.
Yes, the driver's side always works, which when you think about it, shouldn't the driver's side malfunction first due to the wear and tear?!,
Fuses are good, if they went bad it would effect both windows, that was the first place I looked.
Do you know of any wiring diagrams on-line for that vehicle?, because it's starting to look like I'll be digging around with a test light.

Your best bet is to start with a test light. Since you already tried another switch on the driver's side, then find the power out of the switch and just start tracing it back to the other side. The prob could still be on the driver's side. I had an issue with my locks especially on the passenger side and it turned out to be a broken wire in the boot from the door to the fender on the driver's side. Start at the switch noting wire color, then check each connector point going to the other side. when you find where the power doesn't make it to then you have found what two points the problem is between.
I have a Ford CD at home but I am not sure just what wiring diagrams are included. I will check it out later tonight. Send me an email through the link in my profile to remind me.
Sorry...nothing in my inbox for private messages. I did unfortunately forget to check the cd. I was trying to sell my bike. I will send myself an email home as a reminder.
blacksheep...ddrumman or Billybob can email you if you go into your User CP and turn email on. After they email you then you can email them back and go from there.
OK, I give, I guess I'm just computer stupid. Here's my e-mail, I'll leave it up for about 8 hours and then delete it. (Click Here to find out why email addresses are removed from posts.)
OK I quit, I give, and I hate Bill Gates......................
Maybe I could get a link or something because this isn't working out.

Will have to keep an eye on this thread to see if ya find an answer to the issue. My 99's passenger window does that ocaissionally, but will start working again. Possibly a short, but it isn't a very consistant one.
I am also having a problem but mine is the driver's window. About a year and a half ago it just quit working, also in the up position. When I tried to lower it nothing happend. After pressing teh button, I could hear a clicking sound for about 5 minutes then it would stop. When I tried to lower it again, same thing. After a couple of days it started working again until a couple of days ago and the exact same thing s happening now. Quit working on Saturday afternoon and hasn't corrected itself yet so I am wondering what Ford will tell me to get it repaired. Lots of $ I'm sure.
