Geeze....trying to post pics and it deletes all my typing.

Anyway....its been a long time since Ive posted here or given any updates. So, here's whats been done. I know there are other threads in the forum somewhere but no need to resurrect dead stuffs.

So the entire frame got redone, new floor pans in the cab, new wiring harness in. Complete motor rebuild from block up, .030 over, Silvolite pistons, HS roller rockers and original heads built to mock the Edelbrock heads with larger valves/seats and porting/polishing. Truck is driving, exhaust is on and sounding freeking sweet with MagnaFlo 3 chamber mufflers. Loud enough the wife knows when I start it in the house with the TV on. New tires and rims. PS is new, brake system is new including lines, new fuel delivery system including lines and tank, column shift deleted for floor shifter (not in interior pic above) among other things. I have video of how it sounds and a sweet burn out if I can figure out how to download and post those on here.

Still have to wire up all lights, redo the plug and coil wires, finish the PS, finish up with the wire loom, wipers and VintageAir box, clean up and seal the bottom of the bed and put it back on. Then I can finish up the interior and replace all window and door seals....and then the stereo.

Have questions, just ask. Been working on this thing for almost 5 years. No garage, just the street and back yard. Considering it lasted 35 years before I started the Freshtoration it should easily last another 20 or so with all the crap I've been doing to it and changing/updateing.

Here is a pic of the shifter from a while back and the column.

I have over 900 pics from this build over the years....everything has been resurfaced and painted/sealed/powdercoated...

Boring and like everyone else.

Defiantly different. Gives it a unique look.

Since Im on a posting roll here......If you can't tell I do like to modify and be a bit different from the norm......Whats your opinion?? It's cool if you think it sucks or want to hate on me for what I did....cause that means you actually looked.

Is is different for sure, with the black color carry down from the hood to the top part of the grill shell and the FORD letter delete.

What about some black plastic honeycomb grill material, made from a 96 to 99 Dodge truck or small gap tread plate inserts in the gap where the letters use to be? And maybe even the fin part of the grill?

I'm not a fan of all black grill inserts.. It loses its "Dentsidedness".

Here's an idea I'll throw out... I believe Ford designed the front end more for appearance than function and that's why the grill insert openings are larger than the radiator's frontal area. Meaning, the wide openings allow excess air to enter and decrease aerodynamic efficiency.

So... what do do? What about 'glassing over those unused areas of the grill inserts. Or maybe fab up some brackets and install smaller 5.75-inch auxiliary lights.

To illustrate...

My opinion? I liked the original look much better. The blacked out grill look is anything but unique, it's actually one of the most common modifications made to the appearance of these trucks, sometimes done with finesse, but in this case, not so much. And why is the one thing that should be blacked out, the radiator, still visible. Not baaad, just bad.

Love it. Doing my own flavor of this sort of refurb right now. Not quite as far along as you are...

Question- any more details on that cluster? I was envisioning something like that myself. I have a ways to go before working on that but it never hurts to think ahead.

I appreciate everyones opinion......but the front grill is not finished yet, neither is the truck. I plan on putting a strip of sheet metal where the letters were to close up the gap and bring the visual lines to flow as well as putting some type of grill mesh stuff in the existing grill shell. Gotta find the right stuff and then decide on whether or not to put it in front or behind the existing grill shell. Im thinking behind to give it the depth Im looking for however in front may give it that snazzy look im wanting with what Im doing...

I am curious about the oil filter. Did you have to relocate it because of the Saginaw power steering pump? I purchased the Borgeson kit and will have to relocate the filter.
