This thing has become a thorn in my side, It had a fuel pump/pressure issue. 460 CI Holley 1470 Carb, Electric Carter high volume in line external fuel pump on factory ford wiring with emergency bypass aux carquest 9 psi pump on a 12v switch.
This vehicle will run smoothly for about 1/4 mile then runs out of fuel, will restart and idle fine..then roll about another 1/4 mile and do it again. Fuel starvation. it has a return line with a factory fuel return valve from ford on it.I have added an emergency pump and direct bypass wiring to eliminate the fuel cutoff relay and the inertia switch.I did that to eliminate any relay or wiring problems. It makes no difference on how it runs. I just had the carb rebuilt. Where should I be looking for an issue?
Do you have the wrong fuel cap on it ? Try with fuel cap off. Just a idea.
Come to think of if NO I havent, great idea, possibly over thinking this constant plague. Also been thinking about putting a outboard boat gas tank on it to the fuel pump and see what kind of reaction it has
