Hi everyone. I have recently acquired a 1990 E150 club wagon xlt (302 with AOD) dual fuel tanks. The fan runs fine and both tanks function but the check valves have failed in both tanks so when one is in use, it slowly fills the other and I have to switch back and forth between them constantly. Would I would like to do is simply take the rear tank lines and clamp them off and only use the front tank. If ever in an emergency need for fuel I could just release the clamp and have access to the tank.
My question is this. I see the 2 lines at the rear tank, they are fitted to the tank with these plastic quick connects (same as the filter, etc). Does that hard plastic run the length of the rubber line or is it just a high pressure rubber line that is hollow? The lines are flexible like normal rubber fuel lines but I wanted to verify that before clamping them down.
