Can anyone help me identify my rear axle and gear ratio? The door tag says c2 which only thing I could find is dana 61 but only listed f250 and not my e350.
Rear dif tag numbers dont match the formats of the number identification sites I went to.
First 3 numbers are 4 10 so do I have 4.10s?
One source I found stated axle code C2 is 4.10 limited slip. The factory axle in these vans is the dana 60 semi or full float. Look for the "60" designation at location 3 in the diagram below.
Thanks for the help guys! Ill have to wait untill I get off work tomorrow and check for casting numbers
Your BOM is 606845-6, which is Semi-Float, 4.10 gear ratio, Trac Loc limited slip diff. (unless previous owner changed ring and pinion). The BOM is on the tag as well as stamped into the rear of the right axle tube. About 6 inches to right of the housing. Numbers are about 1/4" high.
Thanks guys. My stamped/cast codes dont seem to match up. Where the 60 series stamp is supossed to be it looks like a date stamp, and I have no codes that I could see on the tubes.
Ive attatched pics of the codes I did see.
Im building a general use/ camping rig. Wont see much off road use but maybe some bad gravel/dirt roads so if I have some form of locker that is a plus. Maybe tow a small boat trailer in the future.

Every Dana axle has a BOM a few inches to the right of the date code stamp. They can be hard to see through the rust or undercoating, but like I said earlier, it is also on the silver tag. Just remember to add friction modifier if you change rear axle fluid. Cheers!
The BOM saying its LS
or the Lack of the "L" meaning its open diff?
Lack of the "L" does not mean open!
I recently bought a 2000 E350 rear diff. And the axle tag says 4.10 and it's a limited slip rear. At the lower right corner of the tag it does have "LS".
If the BOM says it's a LS it's probably a LS.
And NumberDummy says if the axle code on your door decal starts with a letter, like yours does, then it's a LS.
