I just bought a 1995 e350 that is pretty trimmed out. Power everything that I can think of, but I don't have but one original key. I'm wondering where the keyless entry module is if it has one. On my 2002 van I think all of that is on the wall behind the driver's seat (it's a Club Wagon, this one isn't) Does anyone know? My 1992 Chateau a few years back had keyless entry.
If I don't have it, is it easy to upgrade with the factory system (plug and play perhaps?) I'd love to find the box and fobs and go factory before aftermarket if it is an option for me.
Hmmm. I found one post where a person said it can be added, but will not be there. In the same forum someone said it is near the driver's seat belt mechanism and they pulled that cover off and found no module, only a terminated connector (>5 terminals). You can buy the FOB's and module from fordparts.com. On this site I found this on an F-150 1995: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...s-entry-2.html
Is the keyless entry module the same as the power door lock module? you can get fobs thru e-bay cheap and program them yourself...Google the procedure.I got 2 Ford fobs at a garage sale for $5 and they worked for my 2000 E-350 that didn't come with fobs,
Scotty the illustration 2KFord2K shows is spot on for the RKE. If there aren't two unconnected wiring tails it would be a bear installing a factory RKE---they're too integrated into the chassis wiring to make this an easy project.
If those tails or connectors are present I'd look on eBay for a gently used RKE specific to your year---they might be particular in that regard. The fobs seem to be usable and programmable across a lot of years, also available new OEM on eBay too.
I swear I had some photos of my '03's RKE but can't find them just yet---will post if/when they come out of hiding!
JWA, what did you ever find out on this? I pulled the side panel on a van I bought yesterday but didn't see the plugs right away. I do have one with a jumper loop attached (visible at the top of the diagram) but mine is down low by those other two big plugs (which are attached, not loose).
