Exhaust gaskets

I had posted this on a previous thread but haven't gotten a response so I'm wondering if you guys can tell me where on my exhaust this would go? I did an egr delete and oil cooler swap and I found this under the truck when I was finished. I never saw it so it didn't get replaced. I would imagine it goes on the up pipe as I did replace mine but I don't know where. Any help would be appreciated and I'm hoping you tell me I don't have to pull the turbo again lol.

Ya do you know if it's the upper or lower connection though? Cause if it's the upper I believe I have to pull the turbo

It's for the upper side where it bolts to the Y pipe.

If you're real good, you could loosen the turbo marmon clamp and manifold connection, cut the bolt holes to hooks (or carefully locate it and get the bolts through the holes), and slip it in:

This is the up-pipe removal process with the turbo installed, all you have to do is get the top bolts loose/removed with enough slack to slide the gasket in:

Side note, how important is it, really? If the joint isn't leaking does it matter?

The new kit didn't come with a new gasket? Perhaps it's installed you just don't remember?

My egts seem a bit high too so I think I may have a leak there which sucks.

So I do have a small exhaust leak where the new up pipe meets the passenger manifold. It's not big at all just with the truck running I can feel a little air movement. I actually don't think my egts are high ca use when I drove in this morning to work my Pyro read 700-800 at 70 down the freeway and didn't ever stay higher unless on a grade. In town their never a real issue never above 850 with throttle. How big of an issue is this leak do you guys think?

Any leak ahead of the firewall is an issue because of exhaust gases getting into the cab.

Me, personally, I'd do it from underneath the truck, but then, I've got long skinny arms. Like Bryan said, I'd loosen the y pipe at the turbo and both manifolds then loosen the up pipe bolts and work the gasket in. I wouldn't pull the turbo if I didn't have to.

Ya mean like this

This is the evolutionary change that occurs from a Ford Tech assigned to do all the '03 ICP sensor changes from under the vehicle at one of the largest dealerships in the country.

Good one Jack
I have longer forearms, not THAT long....I find it's a piece of cake figuratively speaking, to get at the early build we have.
