exhaust question

exhaust question

does anybody know if there is a crush washer between the turbo and the exhaust inlet pipe . ive got a lot of leakage there and the clamp is as tight as i can get it.

sounds like you need to clean the rust out from between the turbo and exhaust pipe.

And besides cleaning the rust, if you've replaced the turbo then it's not a bad idea to loosen the y-pipe at the exhaust manifolds and EGR cooler if it's there and tighten the inlet to the turbo first. I have to do mine this way every time I remove my turbo or I'll get a leak. The exhaust manifolds are, for whatever reason, a little more forgiving on sealing off.

guess i should of asked if you had a leak at the inlet of the turbo or the outlet of the turbo.like stated above its kind of a pain to get the y pipe to line up with the inlet odf the turbo.i was just assuming you ment the inlet of the down tube on the exhaust.
