Hi everyone, just wanted to share about an issue I had and maybe it can help others. I was getting no boost on my gauge past few days, off and on. I did a lot of research and checked a lot of things including, the cac boots, wiring, map sensor, hose, and I almost removed turbo to clean vanes. I was told to clean my ebp sensor and tube and that also didn't work. After checking codes again which read p0069 "manifold absolute pressure", I checked with a coworker that is familiar with these engines and he advised to switch out the ebp sensor and clear the codes. Truck is back running perfect. Just thought I'd share. Thanks everyone on the forum, lots of useful information on here.
Not often we get someone like you that researches their problem and potential solutions, does a bunch of them, finally solves the problem on their own, and then WRITES about what the problem was and how it got fixed!
I went back and talked to my coworker and asked for a basic detail of why the ebp sensor would cause no boost. And he basically said that when the sensor reads tons of exhaust Back pressure it sends a signal to the computer to basically disable anymore turbo flow. And I remember when he plugged his laptop in the sensor was showing abnormal high voltage think it was around 57volts if I'm not mistaken. He mentioned also that he's changed tons and tons of these, they are a common part to go bad. I trust this guy with his diagnosis and I info, he's one of the best if not the best in town for these engines. He used to be a Ford tech and now runs his own outfit out of our heavy equipment shop. I think he would be a huge asset to have on the forum if he ever had the time.
