On my 78 custom, the shift lever is very loose on the shift collar. The shop manual showed a grommet so I bought that but now I realize I don't have the same type of shifter lever. Most I have seen are round so the grommet fits around them and into the hole on the shift collar, but mine is square at the end and doesn't use a grommet? Is this the original column?

Parts catalog pic without tilt wheel (lever has a square end - see pic below) does not show a grommet.
Thank you! For whatever reason my 78 ford shop manual shows the grommet for both tilt and non tilt wheels. So it looks like I'll need a new shift collar, since the pin is in good shape but the holes in the collar for the pin are ovaled.
