steering column question
I have to replace the upper steering column bearing in a 95 F-350. Not having any luck removing it with the shaft in place. Is it possible to take off the u- joint and lower the steering shaft enough to remove it from the bearing. Then I can get access to the rear to remove it. Is there anything that can move out of place once the shaft is moved down? I have seen where people get the bearing out with the shaft in place but it seems like there bearings where falling apart and they were removed in pieces.

yea it would most likely be in pieces. if you want want to remove the shaft, or remove the housing it's self. you might look into hitting it with a chisel and removing it with a small hook. if your planing on changing put the top of would suggest just getting both and replacing both at once. then you just remove the upper house and replace them and you won't have to worry again for a long while
