https://www.amazon.com/Unique-Goods-...s=pwm+stepless this is what I used i hooked it up to 12v ignition so it is on with the ignition. Its a simple 4 wire setup voltage in pwm out. Wired straight to the two connector on the motor. LB/YE is the positive LG/BK is negative. I cut the switch off of the controller and jumped the wires so it is always on. I may replace the potentiometer with resistors once I find the sweet spot.
I am hoping someone will see this even though its a really old thread. I am just wanting to make sure that I am understanding correctly, you hook into ignition to power, and then the other wires go to this...

Yes, that will work. You can also leave it wired into the PCM and it will work like factory.
Thanks so much for the reply. We actually got it going this fall and it drives good now. We had a nightmare of a time with the power steering and ended up replacing a few things because even after I saw this, we were still having issues. I am really thankful for this forum because of finding little things like this that are a huge help!
Hi everyone, so I just purchased this 68 f100 but the previous owner didn’t give me any info as to what year car the suspension and the 4.6L engine came from, the issue I’m experiencing is the same as others on this thread, when and checked underneath the truck this is what I found and I’m hoping someone here can help. The solenoid plug and the wire harness pigtail do not match so it has been disconnected all this time since the built. pump was replaced but still hard to steer. Where can I get the right harness so that it can be wired to ignition switch? Thank you
I took the solenoid with me to Napa Auto and we found the wire to fit that plug… unfortunately I cannot find the part number from it. If I find it, I will post again. It didn’t take long to figure out with them though.

I think the plug is the same as an Injector or coil off the 4.6. I wired one up on the '85 and could not find the plug that came off the VAPS and ran across one on the harness that did fit.
Thank you for the info. I actually went to the junkyard yesterday and found the plug, I connected it directly to power and ground just to test it and it worked beautifully. If it wasn’t for this post, I would have never figured it out…
Well lets see if we can dig this thread up again :
followed along as best as I could and got the pieces to the puzzle, amazon potentiometer, with the little green button and digital display.
I spliced both wires together at the pressure switch or I guess solenoid on the steering rack by the two hydraulic lines and connected them to the positive"motor" output of the potentiometer. The negative "motor" wire simply connects to ground on the battery. To power up the digital display I used ignition power on the starter solenoid and a body ground. The display lights up , the potentiometer works to watch the numbers go up and down, the green button turns the display on and off ... but I don't have any steering assistance, still heavy like a farm truck with 8 inch wide wheels.. I can put power and ground to the solenoid and hear it clicking so it must be working.
what am i missing , head scratching over here for sure.

You truck is BEAUTIFUL
I believe you should try a not so plain hubcap, to me truck is perfect, except for the hubcaps. A little factory Ford detail in a different cap might just send it over the top........
Just'a thought
I was just cruzing thru & saw the 2 tone truck of Just Getting Started & decided to comment. Today I noticed this tread is fro 2006 or 2008 ..........well, many moons ago, so...
