My dealer couldn't believe that I didn't want the upfitter switches. With all the 12V/AC outlets, I can't imagine why I would need more switches?
I don't intend to plow snow. I will tow my boat and RV.
Am I missing something?
If you only connect 1 item the upfitter switches will be worth having. The wires are fused in the fuse block and coiled and marked under hood for connecting items: some are keyed and some are hot. Anything you choose to wire without the switches will be done by "piggy backing" in the fuse block or a wire straight to the battery. Both are questionable wiring practices which the upfitter switches and their associated wiring will circumvent.
For the hundred and some dollars, why not have the option to do something later? If anything, it's worth the conversation starter it makes with your passengers.
I could turn on and off all kinds of mystical things for my grandchildren with those switches, the sun, the moon, the dog whistle, traffic lights, etc..
I agree with you BII, it's a good value. With this conversation, there are things coming to mind that would be handy to have already wired. It could help the re-sale someday, also. Even if I never use them.
I would like to know if I'm giving up anything? Another place for sunglass', overhead lights, etc.?
They do look pretty good. I don't like things looking out of place.
I was able to see the switches at the drive event in Ft. Wayne. I just couldn't get over all the 12V/AC connections that were standard, the front seat, the rear seat, the bed, the trailer connections. That's why I had a hard time thinking of what else I could plug in. If I have them, I'll find a use for them.

So there placed in a heck of a lot better spot than the 11-16's,we have to dig for them under the dash on these.. Another good + move
If nothing else, according to the posted bulletins it is a feature you cannot add after production.

NOTE: Upfitter Switches cannot be added to a vehicle that was not built with this option at production.
Cool that the 2 extra switches can also be set to be B+ all the time. A welcome addition.
Configuring Upfitter Switches 5 and 6 to Hot-at-all times.
Upfitter relay box fuse F4 (5A) can be put into one of two positions. In Position A, auxiliary switch 5 and 6, operate with the ignition in RUN or START. In Position C, auxiliary switch 5 and 6 operate hot at all times.
