so when I found my truck over a month ago the options were perfect except for a few extra options I thought I would never use like the 5th wheel prep and the upfitter module!
i have no idea why it has the UM without having the PTO or up fitter switches but there it is lol anyways I was hopping for ideas to make use of this! This isn't a fleet truck, I use the truck to haul dump bins and took trailers, and also as a personal truck, any ideas?
wow just looked more into this, that module seems awesome. Lots of possibilities. Fully programmable and lots of inputs/outputs. Can do pretty much anything your heart desires.
cant even use it, apparently i need a ford fleet logon just to download the UIM Project Editor software, and they dont let just let anyone open a account
The upfitter module controls items for operating equipment and other items which need to work with an "If, when" logic. Example would be a bucket lift which required a hydraulic pump run at a specific rpms but for safety the truck would have to be in park and the emergency brake set before the control could become active for the lift. Other items for emergency vehicles can also be programmed in such as high idle for ambulances, wreckers and other equipment which has specific program parameters.
