Hi there I have a 1985 f250 4X4 4speed. I rewired the back up lights because I just got a new bed for it. I was able to get the hazards and brake lights to turn on. But I can't seem to find the reverse wire so it could be wired to the rear. I looked at chilton and it says it's by the transmission but the diagram is not clear. Need help, pics will be helpful.
Page 47 of that EVTM says to see Page 22 for a depiction of the backup light switch on the transmission. How can people easily get to that page from your lights.html page?
This question applies everywhere throughout the EVTM pages, not just this one section/chapter.

That's a very good question. The answer is that there is no way to create a link on that page because, as you know, it is actually just a picture - in other words, a whole bunch of bits. And there's no way to make a link in a picture.
The best way is to go to the page entitled 1981 EVTM or 1986 EVTM, which has a list of each of the sections in the respective EVTM, and each section description lists the pages included in that section. Each section has a link, so....
What I could do, and probably should do, is to put a link at the top of each section page to the above pages. But, what do I call those pages? Are they they Contents pages? Index? Thoughts?
I would say something like "Complete EVTM manual is HERE".
I forget who your hosting provider is (I would have Google'd a bit for ya) but there has been a way to create links in images since Day One of the WWW... go searching on "image map" and add the name of your provider, hopefully there's way of easily doing that in modern HTML.
It is Weebly. I can make an image into a link. But, not something in the image. I might be able to overlay the EVTM page's image with another image that I make into a link. BUT, that would mean I'd have to go find all of the references to other pages, add an overlay, and link it to the section, not the specific page. I don't see that as happening any time soon.
I think it is much better to give the user an easy way to the index of sections/pages. But, I'm open to suggestions.....

I think an EVTM index button (or similar) at the top of each page would be wunderbar, as navigating between sections can be a bit tricky. Currently I have to back out all the way to reach the index.
Another option I'd really like to see is a 'Live Help' link. You could be standing by at all times, wearing a headset. (If there is to be a video connection, no wearing a headset only.) Any time anybody had a question, we could just turn on our computer's microphone and speakers, ask away, and you could provide an answer. You could use a Skype or FaceTime interface if that works easier for you. I'll let you work out the technological details. The important thing is that you're available to us 24/7. Anybody else in favor?

x2 and I am for Skype as I have used that before
Thank you KR for that

Maybe creating links isn't such a bad idea. Giving you guys my cell # for FaceTime sounds a bit invasive. (Back when I was gainfully employed I had both a cell phone and a pager. I still have nightmares about that, 10 years after retiring. )
Chris - I've watched the video and that approach is very promising. I'll give it a try, maybe tonight watching the olympics. Thanks!
However, it is going to look a bit half-hearted. Take Page 47 for example. There are 14 references, and 8 of those refer to pages within this section. However, since I have each section as a page on the web site, providing a link to those won't do anything. So, only the 6 references to EVTM pages that are in another EVTM section/web site page will have links. Does that make sense? And, is that acceptable?
I wish that Weebly treated pdf's differently, meaning not in a frame within which you scroll. I say that because in a pdf I can insert a link that takes you to a specific view within the document. In other words, if there is a reference to a certain illustration I can insert a link that not only takes you to the right page but fills your screen with the illustration. In fact, I could put the whole EVTM in a pdf and offer links to each section, page, and illustration. But, I feel so constrained by the frame Weebly puts a pdf in that I don't like that approach.
So, if you could find a better way to present pdf's in Weebly then maybe that would be a better approach. Something that isn't so confining?
There is the HTML anchor tag that allows you to direct people to a specific location on a page via a link containing a reference to said tag, is that what you're asking for?

As for the PDFs, I'll hafta take a look.
I guess that's what I'm looking for. That might do it. If you can send me a how-to link I'd appreciate it. Or, I can Google it later. Am packaging a flywheel to send to
