tail light question

On my 79 f250 I put a flat bed on it and I am working on putting the tail lights on. From the truck I have a brown wire running to both left and ride side a yellow wire and a black/red wire to the left side. And I got a greenwire and another black/red wire. On the tail lights I got I have white, red, and brown wires.
white: reverse light
brown: tail light
red: brake light/ turn signal
I have everything but revese lights that work... I try and try but I cant get reverse lights to work. And it is grounded out. thanks for the help!!

Black/Red stripe = BU lights
Brown = License plate and running lights
Green wire - Right TS/Brake light

Light blue to Green Left TS/Brake light

If you jumper a 12v powered wire to the BU circuit Black/red stripe and the lights come on doing this test.......

The NSS/Back Light switch mounted on the transmission is probably filthy and stopped working.

Do a word search for "lacquer thinner" in the message box with my user name in the 73-79 forum and you should see how to clean it.

Or just replace it if you're rich
