Brought my truck into the shop this morning for new tires and an alignment. Techs couldn't get the truck to align properly and eventually found that I have a broken main leaf spring.
This can cause your rear end to be out of alignment...right? It's a used truck and I'm concerned that the frame may be bent which was the techs initial instinct.
Leafs wear out and break. Replace both leaf packs and see what happens. Did you pull a car fax on the truck. What year truck is it? I wouldn't be overly concerned until both the leaf packs are replaced and see what the alignment does.
It's a 2014. It was a work truck for an oil field service company so I'm not overly surprised to be honest. I pulled both a carfax and autocheck on it before I bought it with no wrecks.
It depends on the vehicle and the situation but we usually suggest replacing in pairs. It won't really hurt anything if you just do one side you run the risk of leaning and having the truck look goofy. Depends on your budget really.
