leaf spring
Hi there was woundering if any body ever lowered a strait axel truck using the new lowering leafs spring.Do you just remove the top main spring an add the new one on.

An old trick is to flip the main leaf so the eye is down. This affects the arch of the main leaf but dosen't seem to cause problems. Any spring shop can do this for you and add nylon spacers and new bushings at the same time to quiet the spring a bit. I do not recommend any changes to front leaf springs. Trucks equipped with front leaf and a straight axle are a bear to handle anyway and I would not mess with any of that.
