another egr question

another egr question
I have a 06 f350 with a 6.0 in it..i just changed my egr valve and need to know if I need to take it in and have the dealer put his computer on it..the check engine light is still on and origanaly pulled a p0404 code..any help would be appreaciated

Have you checked to see what other codes its pulling?

Was it reading this code before you unhooked the connection ? Because that will set a DTC , what running issues are you running into?

no the code is why I changed the egr there were no other codes just 0404
